Description
Kevlar thread from PP Fofanov Yu.S. is an ideal choice for use under conditions of high loads.
Due to its incredible strength and tear resistance, it is ideal for the production of protective clothing, automotive components, as well as valuable sports and military products.
Its high heat resistance provides reliable protection in extreme conditions. Our thread can be used in any products that require maximum strength and reliability.
History of Kevlar thread
Kevlar thread was invented in 1965 by the American chemist Stephen Shear. It was the result of his work on new polymers as part of research for the **DuPont** company.
The main stages of creating a Kevlar thread:
- Research and development: Stephen Scheer and his team worked to create new types of synthetic fibers. They focused on improving the properties of existing materials and looked for new opportunities to expand their use.
- Polymer synthesis: In 1965, Shear and his colleagues created a polymer based on aramid, a type of synthetic fiber characterized by high tensile strength and heat resistance. This polymer was called Kevlar.
- Thread development and testing: After synthesizing the polymer, the team conducted numerous tests to verify its properties and usability. Kevlar has demonstrated exceptional strength, lightness and resistance to high temperatures, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.
- Commercialization: In 1971, DuPont patented Kevlar and began its commercial production. Kevlar quickly gained popularity in many industries due to its unmatched strength and lightness.
Since then, Kevlar filament has become the standard for many technological and industrial applications, including protective clothing, automotive tires, sports equipment, and more.
