What are metallized threads?
Metallized threads are used for embroidery (clothing, household textiles), to improve the appearance and artistic design of fabrics and knitwear.

Metallic thread embroidery is also used in ceremonial clothing.

Metallic fibers are fibers composed of metal, metal with a plastic coating, plastic with a metal coating, or a core completely covered with metal.

Gold and silver have been used since ancient times as yarn to decorate cloth. More recently, aluminum thread, aluminized plastic thread, and aluminized nylon thread have replaced gold and silver.

Metal threads can be coated with transparent films to minimize tarnishing.

Historically, metallic thread was created by wrapping a metallic ribbon around a fiber (cotton or silk), often in such a way as to reveal the color of the core of the fiber to enhance the visual quality of the decoration.
